The Bookshop
Welcome to The Kemp Town Bookshop’s web site. We are an independent bookshop selling a wide range of books. We have in stock some 10,000 titles in categories ranging from fiction to children's books, art, history, politics, travel, biography, the environment etc. Depth of stock is as important to us as range; we try to pick each of our titles individually, and to stock the highlights amongst the many books published in each category every year.
Book Ordering Service
The Orders section allows you to order a book via e-mail. You may collect from the shop or request the order to be sent by post. We have a fast - often next day - ordering service, and can obtain virtually any book in print. To ensure speed of fulfilment we ring our customers to notify of the book’s arrival. Customers can then collect at their convenience, but we also send books to customers all over the world. Besides books, there’s a wonderful range of greetings cards and stationery - invitations, photo-albums and blank books etc. We also sell gift wrap and pens, and stock a wide range of calendars and diaries.
Bookroom Café
The Bookroom Café serves a selection of delicious coffees, teas, organic hot chocolate, juices and smoothies. Light lunches include freshly prepared sandwiches, bagels and home-made soup of the day. We also offer a selection of mouth-watering cakes and snacks.
Events and Courses
The Kemp Town Bookshop is a venue for courses, workshops and events, often with a literary focus.

Links
Kemp Town Bookshop and the Bookroom Café has nominated Bookpower as the main organisation to which charitable donations are given. Customers are invited to contribute to Bookpower directly via this link: www.BookPower.org. Alternatively, contributions can be made via the bookshop. (Please enquire at the front desk). BookPower is a unique charity which subsidises affordable, unabridged editions of basic higher education textbooks for 39 of the poorest countries in English-speaking Africa, the Indian sub-continent & the Caribbean. The best, most up-to-date, international textbooks are chosen with overseas advice and sold only overseas, at a fraction of the cheapest UK prices. This also increases the volume of business for often struggling book-importers and booksellers in low-income countries. The BookPower website at www.BookPower.org provides further general information.
The Deckchair is the Brighton & Hove website for and about literature with a city connection. Here you will find reviews of books by local authors - both well-known and little-known - new writing, features, articles, advice and much more. You can also contribute your own writing by going to the Get Involved section of the site.
