Philosophy, Knowledge and the Good Life

10 weeks; this course introduces you to philosophy by thinking about our world and our lives. It presumes no prior knowledge, and treats philosophy as both pleasurable and challenging. We'll ask: what can we know, and what can't we know? What can philosophy say about modern politics and war? Is rationality always reasonable? What is the good life?

Mondays 7-9 pm.

19th September – 28th November. No session on 24th October.

Cost: £95.00

Course tutor: Dr. Mark Devenney is Principal lecturer in Politics and Philosophy at the University of Brighton. He has published books and articles about contemporary debates in politics and philosophy, and has presented his work across the world. He is currently completing a book about the politics of life and death in modern societies.

NB: No more bookings are being taken for this course.
