An epic love story of timeless resonance.

Entranced by the light of first love, aspiring journalist Anton comes to life when he meets a woman called Delphine in Vienna, only for his country to then declare war on hers.

Having spent her childhood in a small town with her mother, Lena allows herself to be spirited away to Vienna by a young lawyer in the name of love. When the relationships falls apart, she takes a post at a sanatorium in the mountains.

In the years preceding the start of World War II, Anton is commissioned to write about the sanatorium where Lena works. There, at Schloss Seeblick, the roots of human suffering are laid bare and two people will see each other as if for the first time.
