We run two book groups every month – one is aimed at twenty-somethings and the other is for everyone. It’s a chance for local people to get together and discuss new and classic fiction with like-minded people. Why not join us and give it a try?

Bookshop book group

Our book group meets on the last Wednesday of every month from 7.30-9pm in The Bookroom Cafe, upstairs at the bookshop. It’s a chance for local people to get together and discuss new and classic fiction. The book club has four membership options:

• A basic subscription to be part of the group with no obligation to buy the book from us: £5
• A subscription which includes the book group monthly membership and the book: £13
• A premium subscription which includes the book group monthly membership, the book and a drink in the Bookroom Café: £15
• A subsidised place where you can buy the book yourself: free

We are currently closed to new members because of the popularity of the group but if you’d like to be added to the waiting list, please email Cathy – cathy@kemptownbookshop.co.uk.

Or why not use our reading list to inspire your own choices?

Our upcoming books are:

• Wednesday 25th October – Leonard and Hungry Paul by Roan Hession
Wednesday 29th November – David Copperfield – Charles Dickens
Wednesday 27th December – Demon Copperhead – Barbara Kingsolver
Wednesday 31st January – The Botanist’s Daughter – Kayte Numn
Wednesday 28th February – Plainsong – Kent Haruf

We welcome everyone no matter how you identify or how others perceive you.
